EXHIBITORS
I'm Ellie Dickens and I'm a 21 year old Graphic Design student. After studying Graphic Design for around 4 years, I found it's something I am ardent about - work i wish to pursue further through my degree.
Graphic Designer
ELLIE DICKENS
I was unaware of Graphic design until I started at Milton Keynes college; I was originally a sixth form student passionate about Fashion, Art and Media studies - this still hasn't changed, as everyday I'm still finding inspiration in these subjects.
I've learned to use Adobe throughout this course and gained a good portfolio from the work I have produced through different projects. My favourite project of mine was the re-branding of a local café/bistro - I was able to really work on furthering my skills more as a designer.
Overall, this course has shaped and helped me understand my career aspects and after this course I hope to curate a Graphic design agency so I can advance my skills and become the best designer I can be.
Please feel free to take a look at my online portfolio, and email me!

I have always been keen on art since I was young and enjoyed seeing what I can create. I am encouraged by my family as my Dad and Granddad were very interested in art themselves, with my Dad showing me the work he had produced and artists he appreciated.

TARA PAGE
I love to create work in my spare time, trying to challenge myself to see what I can do to develop my skill and creativity.
I am currently studying a HND in Art Practice and so far I have become more imaginative and seek to use a wide range of media and techniques such as glass, gilding, printing, clay, and acrylic.
Throughout all of my projects and the work I have created on display; nature and the outside world has been a large inspiration for me; simply walking through a forest, field or local park, i am able to see everything nature has to offer; light, colour, beauty and fragility.

After studying art from school to higher education at MK college, I have refined my technique and skills in the area in which I hope to form a career.

JESSICA MASON
I have always loved drawing animals since I was a young child so my love for it has grown fonder as i develop it at college and for private commissions. Being a dog owner myself, I know we often take photos of our ‘children’, so I thought being able to capture their personality in a hand-drawn, bespoke, and photorealistic piece of art is a better way of keeping their memories alive forever. My preferred choice of media is usually dry - in particular a single black biro pen. I can also use graphite pencils, oil pastels, charcoal, and fineliner pens - alongside my experience with acrylic paint. I have also started my own business; “Jessica Mason Artwork” this year after having guidance from college, which also helped me with branding myself, social media, marketing and financing.

TAYLOR-LEIGH PHILLIS
Having studied Fine Art for four years, I have experimented and played with a lot different techniques which forms my muse in the field of creative practice, such as 3D work, printing, and new media.
However, the one thing I am always drawn back to is my love for social and political art; as an Intersectional Feminist, I take it upon myself to learn and understand about different issues that concern the construct we as a society have formed and I try to use this to empower my artwork. A big thing for myself this year has been working with minimalism fused with an educated purpose such as the “Four women” combining aesthetics of modern day expectations and social concepts that many might not understand.
For this unit, I am turning my attention away from these subjects and taking on a more professional role; being able to have the opportunity to network and expand my skill set is one I am very fortunate to have, and hope that we have executed well. After this course, I hope to be finishing off my degree at University where I am to stretch myself further professionally but also in my studies as a Feminist artist.

OLIVIJA
ŽUKAUSKAITÉ
I am a HND Graphic Design student - I first started studying a Level 2 Art & Design course, which gave me knowledge on how to use different medias, materials and how to create a mixed media artwork.
On that course I realised that I want to study Graphic Design, so after Level 2 I went on to study Level 3 Graphic Design. There I learnt how to use Adobe software, analyse, and evaluate my work - I continued improving my skills in the creation of work - This made me realise that I like to combine physical and digital art into one piece. Continuing my studies, I went onto the HNC course where I further improved my digital and physical skills, learnt to work independently, and achieve target goals.
On this current course I experimented with different materials and media that I later finish digitally. In my opinion, this is how Graphic Design becomes more personal and unique.
After this course I want to start working as a graphic designer, I will need to start from a junior position; this will give me experience, as well as leading me to the graphic designer workplace.

GEMMA HUDSON- FINDLEY
As an experienced art tutor and a casual multidisciplinary artist, I enrolled on the HND Art
Practice course to widen my experience and knowledge for my teaching practice and on a personal level, having previously considered myself a “jack-of-all-trades” type of artist, I hoped to find my own “specialism” or niche as an artist.
On my 2 year journey, having experimented with a variety of methods from found objects to photography, I discovered an unwavering fondness for decorative ceramics, followed not far behind by printmaking (including printing onto clay)!
With this new focus, I have used my time on the HND course to create my own online business; Watson & Wells Designs, to sell my ceramic wares and prints. I have also recently moved into my own studio to continue my practice and to create more products for Watson & Wells Designs.

LAUREN CALLIS
Having previously studied at Milton Keynes College to do the HNC Graphic Design course, I am now working towards getting my HND in Graphic Design -
then planning to achieve my degree at Northampton University. My main focus for a while was art and illustration, this changed when I took Graphic Design at GCSE five years ago and have studied it ever since. I’ve started my own Instagram page and online portfolio in order to showcase my work to the public and potential clients, I have also been doing some freelance Graphic Design work; working for companies such as SEGA to create a ‘steampunk sonic’ for their clothing range.
For this unit, I have worked on improving and expanding my ever-growing design skills while using Adobe software. I wanted to include work that I was truly proud of and showed my artistic style within the designs.

I have loved taking photographs from a young age, inspired by my Grandfather who would never go anywhere without a camera, inheriting his ability to see beauty and a good photograph.

LISA MARSHALL-HILL
I used to take great pleasure in showing him my photographs and making him albums. Before he passed away he developed dementia, we would sit and go through the albums together, it was those moments I decided I wanted to take my photography further.
I have now studied photography for 4 years, my specialism is Lifestyle, I am also interested in product and macro photography. I am currently starting up my own business taking photos in my studio and out on location; I specialise in family photoshoots, maternity, newborn, couples, and pets - I also use props to offer clients variety and a form of storytelling. I love making people happy with my work, and feel humbled when clients display my images.

WENDY MANLY
Through contextual research, a nod to the historical and a thirst for knowledge; I aim to look with fresh eyes to create contemporary surface design or original one-off paintings.
Nature has an honest way of showing us how colours compliment each other, which is how I generate my initial ideas. Research is vital and can take many forms; from walks, museums, and exhibition visits to reading either books or magazines - even a simple postcard could be the start of something exciting.

stories deconstructed in ink, re-organised into a visual concept. My work often does not speak to most as it holds a message i cannot yet share, but the human experience is mutual - a communal essence exists to unite myself to you. This work is here to make you feel, exist differently momentarily, and spark thought.
